Scott has held multiple roles over his 24-year career at AstraZeneca, and now serves as the Director of Tech Innovation. Over the years, he’s played a pioneering role in building AstraZeneca’s Innovation capability and has led the strategic direction and implementation of AZ’s first enterprise innovation platform with 30,000+ registered colleagues across the company. In addition, Scott led an Open Innovation capability which helps solve problems with new partners across the world. This effort has resulted in a new way of working, unique partnerships, and enabled the implementation of novel solutions across R&D, Operations, IT and Commercial.

Scott received his Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from the School of Pharmacy at the University of Mississippi, and BS in Chemistry from the SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry at Syracuse University. He started his career at AZ as a post-doctoral scientist discovering lead compounds for Alzheimer’s disease through the implementation of robotics and automation.
