AES 2022 SPEAKER
Exploring how people engage with information is at the core of Carrie Roy's User Experience research in R&D, her data-inspired art, and academic interests. Roy currently works with AR technologies as a UX Researcher for Bayer Crop Science. A former TEDx speaker, her interest in mixed reality was informed by her post-doctoral work in a VR lab designing tools for Digital Humanities research and through her ethnographic training. She brings a uniquely human-centered approach to data and sees exciting opportunities for transforming how we interact with data and information in our environments through emerging mixed reality technologies. Roy has worked on innovation teams within Fintech, Agriculture and Pet health and is particularly interested in the role of sensors, wearables, and AR hardware in augmenting AI capabilities and the overall user experience.
Carrie & Michael discuss their experiences pitching for, and receiving corporate innovation funds, the benefits of conducting zero-budget, proof-of-concept experiments, and partnering with internal agile development teams and key vendor collaborators.
