Barry Prewitt is the Design Service Process Manager at Stryker. He joined the Stryker Communications business unit in July 2008 after serving 10 years in the U.S. Navy. Once aboard, Barry used his technical knowledge from serving in the military and along with his educational background to improve Stryker’s design to sale business processes for the last 16 years. During his tenure at Stryker, he was involved with the development and implementation of using AR technology in 2016 with the launch of their ByDesign platform to the 1st generation Microsoft HoloLens. This initiative to integrate AR technology into the surgical suite design process was groundbreaking helping the company’s ByDesign AR platform to earn the Excellence in Surgical Products ESP Award in 2017. Since then, he has become one of the company’s subject matter experts in AR/VR development as well as spearheading the adoption of the technology across the business.
