Michael I. Hayat is a staff project manager in Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector, a premier provider of military aircraft, autonomous systems, aerospace structures and next-generation solutions with major operations in CA, FL, MS, ND, OH, OK, UT.

Hayat joined Northrop Grumman in 2021, in the Advanced Manufacturing Technology team, where he leads digital technology projects, mainly focusing on Augmented-Reality (AR) deployments to shop floors. He recently deployed a production AR work instructions system on the F-35 assembly line in Palmdale.

Hayat also worked on proof-of-concept projects to integrate AR, AI and execution systems for use on manufacturing shop floors, and to serve AR through streaming technology for use in manufacturing and engineering activities.

Working in the Digital-Transformation team he also deployed mobile laptops and tablets to manufacturing shop floors and is helping deploy AR technology to several Norhtrop Grumman manufacturing facilities.

Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, Hayat led technology projects in the aircraft-maintenance industry at United Airlines. As sr. manager overseeing aircraft-maintenance technology projects and systems, he supported technical operations at United and at vendor sites. Prior to joining United, he was an information systems consultant with IBM Global Services, at customers in Europe then in the US.

Hayat earned a master’s of engineering degree from the Ecole des Mines, in St-Etienne, France, and a Master’s of Business Administration from the San Francisco State University. He is a certified project management professional (PMP) and a certified scrum master (CSM).
