Dean Hu

Dean Hu is a Virtual Manufacturing Execution Engineer at General Motors within the Global Propulsion Systems Manufacturing Engineering department. Starting his career at GM, Dean was part of the TRACK rotational program where he gained experience throughout GM’s manufacturing life cycle, from laboratory design to plant engineering.

Dean lead the creation of the GPS ME Virtual Reality Lab where Immersive technology is leveraged to model and evaluate product, process, and equipment, seeking to identify manufacturing issues before physical prototyping and fabrication begins. The GPS ME Virtual reality lab has seen utilization for all of GM’s newest powertrain powertrain programs including electric drive units, batteries, transmissions, and engines.
