Case Study - Spatial Computing at Scale: Why Android XR Is Ready for Business

Atrium Ballroom A

Spatial computing has evolved from experimental pilots into business operations, and Android XR delivers the open foundation enterprise IT requires. Android XR meets development teams where they already build, allowing immersive creators to leverage Unity and OpenXR while traditional Android developers bring existing applications into 3D environments using Kotlin and Jetpack. It provides hardware versatility across diverse workflows, spanning high-immersion Video See-Through (VST) headsets for complex training to lightweight Optical See-Through (OST) smart glasses for frontline productivity. And, it’s backed by out-of-the-box enterprise-grade security and proven deployments across major global organizations. Android XR is ready for business today. Learning Topics: Flexible Development Toolchains: Leveraging Unity and OpenXR for 3D immersion with Jetpack and Kotlin for making native Android mobile workflows spatial ready. Multi-Form-Factor Deployment: Supporting both VST headsets and OST glasses under a single, consistent OS architecture. Enterprise-Grade Trust: Leveraging native Android security controls and device fleet management out of the box. Production Case Studies: How large enterprises are successfully operationalizing spatial computing at scale.
